Why couldn't these people put their energy into actually learning how to play a real instrument? This is worse than karaoke, because some of those karaoke people actually have talent. At least some of these air guitar guys actually acknowledge the fact that they have no musical talent and celebrate it, but some of these basement dwellers are deluded.
Real guitars are not made out of cardboard, air or foam. The moves these losers do onstage are so unrealistic. Although their ridiculous moves might look good in front of their mirror, they would never work in a real rock show, where you actually have to play the instrument. Every single one of these contestants should watch the South Park episode that spoofs the Guitar Hero game, and take heed to how they acknowledge the ultimate champion.
