Twenty university teams from across North America traveled 2,500 miles from Austin, TX to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the world's longest solar-powered car race. The competition is the 7th running of the North American Solar Challenge, a biennial 11-day race that pits teams of college students from the U.S. and Canada against each other, the weather and the challenges of making cutting-edge technology work.
